OBIT-STEELE, RICHARD JAMES

STEELE, Richard James, 38, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, October 27, 1993 after a long illness. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. on May 14, 1955, a son of Robert Elsworth Steele of Herndon and Jerry Jackson Steele of Roanoke. He was an artist and was currently pursuing a degree of Fine Arts at Radford University. He was a beloved son and brother. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers and three sisters-in-law, William F. and Bobbie Steele, Narrows, Robert R. and Nancy Steele, Glenvar, Edward A. and Donna Steele, Elkton, Jefferson J. Steele, Roanoke; a niece, Stephanie Steele, Buchanan. In accordance with Richard's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Radford University Art Department Scholarship Fund, Radford, Va. 24142. Carder-Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Bedford is handling arrangements.
