KEEP RELIGION OUT OF POLITICS

HOW CAN people be taken in by politicians' double talk? Jesus said, ``beware of false prophets and those in sheep's clothing.'' The Republican religious coalition is growing in Virginia and the United States. They say they know what's right and wrong for us. If they become a mighty force, some of us may have to seek solace elsewhere, if possible.

We must treasure the freedom we have, even though we don't agree with some of the other liberties that go along with it. We need to keep religious power out of our government. It hasn't worked in the rest of the world, and it's what our ancestors crossed the ocean to get away from.

Pat Robertson gave $50,000 to Jim Gilmore's campaign. We need to search our souls and we don't need politicians doing it for us.

Keep freedom strong in Virginia. Vote for Mary Sue Terry on Nov. 2.
