Heritage (6-2) took a 12-0 lead in the second quarter, but Blacksburg (4-5) battled back, taking a 15-13 lead in the third quarter after Greg Shockley threw two touchdown passes that were deflected by Pioneers defenders but caught by Indians receivers.
Shockley first threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Todd Perdue in the second quarter, then threw an 8-yard scoring strike to Michael Donahue in the third.
Shockley completed 16 of 23 passes for 138 yards.
The Pioneers rolled up more than 300 yards on the ground. \
