EDWARDS-GARST

Mr. and Mrs. Arch Branson Edwards of Edenton, North Carolina, announce the engagement of their daughter, Martha Rachel, to John Callan Garst of Roanoke.

Miss Edwards graduated from Hollins College in 1988 and is currently living in Edenton, working as a manager at The Lords Proprietors' Inn.

Mr. Garst, a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Dartmouth College, is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur High Garst, Jr., of Roanoke; and the grandson of the Rev. Roscoe C. Hauser, Jr. and the late Mrs. Hauser of Fayetteville, NorthCarolina, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur High Garst of Boones Mill. Mr. Garst is currently working forOccanneechi Orchards in Boones Mill.

The couple plan to wed in Edenton on January 29, 1994 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. After they are married, they will live in Roanoke.
