HUNTERS UNABLE TO EVADE TRAIN

Covington police said two men were unable to get out of the way of a train Saturday night before it killed one of them and broke the other's leg.

David Lewis Humphries, 24, of Covington died in the 6 p.m. accident near the Riverside Road trestle. Tracey Dale McCulley, 29, underwent surgery for his injured leg.

The two men had been hunting, and had stopped near the trestle when they were struck.
