ROANOKE VALLEY HOME SALES

Roanoke Valley real estate agents sold 346 homes last month, up 5.8 percent from 327 in October 1992.

The Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors said Monday that 370 more homes have been sold in the first 10 months of this year than the 1992 period, a jump of 11 percent. The average home was on the market 79 days.

Anne Lee Stevens, association president, said many first-time buyers are taking advantage of low interest rates.
