OBIT COPELAND, CHARLES ALLEN

COPELAND, Charles Allen, Major U.S. Army Retired, 75, of Roanoke County, died Monday, November 1, 1993. He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Allen Copeland. He was retired from the V.A. Medical Center in Salem and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #285, Argonia, Kansas, and Scottish Rite, Roanoke. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Echols Copeland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and Michael Gafford, Richmond, Linda Ora and Frank Pellitteri, Hollywood, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Irene Copeland, Laurel, Md.; stepdaughter, Nann Powell Chapman, Portsmouth, N.H.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services with Masonic rites will be at Oakey's North Chapel 4 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Charles Allison Echols officiating. Entombment will be at a later date in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
