OBIT ANDERS, HORTENSE WEBSTER

ANDERS, Hortense Webster, 71, of Gloucester, died Monday, November 1, 1993. She was a native of Roanoke. She was a former teacher in Gloucester Public Schools, and a member of Union Baptist Church in Gloucester, where she had served in the choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a graduate of Radford College and had attended the College of William and Mary and Old Dominion University. She is survived by two sons, Gerald R. Anders, Jr., New York City, and John C. Anders, of Collinsville; a sister, Eleanor W. Rogers, Gloucester. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 1993, at Union Baptist Church. A committal service will follow at 4 p.m. in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Roanoke. Memorial contributions may be made to Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 247 Gloucester Point, Va. 23062, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
