OBIT COCHRAN, RUBY BARLOW

COCHRAN, Ruby Barlow, 90, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, November 3, 1993. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and a native of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, where she taught school for a number of years. She was the widow of Allan R. Cochran, who served as Supervisor of the Jefferson National Forest from 1942 to 1952. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy C. and Daniel E. Wooldridge; son and daughter-in-law, William N. (Bill) and Katherine G. Cochran, of Roanoke; grandchildren; Rebecca Wooldridge Ewell and husband, Wyatt, Diane Wooldridge Laing and husband, Rob, Preston Scott Cochran, all of Roanoke, and Sarah Paige Wooldridge of Richmond; great-grandchildren; Rachel Dameron Ewell, Tyler Grant Ewell, and Alexander Cochran Ewell, of Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law; Pearl B. and James B. Smith, of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Arlene and Sterling Beaver, Mabel and Ralph Gooding, Janice and Vic Batterson, Mary Kay Cochran, all of Ohio, Betty Cochran Popp, of Kentucky; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Oakland Baptist Church, Friday, November 5, l993, ll a.m., with the Rev. H. Kelly Dampeer Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to the Sanctuary Renovation Fund - Oakland Baptist Church, 3623 Round Hill Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia 24012. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel Thursday, November 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
