OBIT SLOUGH, RUTH JORDAN
SLOUGH, Ruth Jordan, 86, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, November 3, 1993.
She was born March 15, 1907, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late John
Thomas and Martha Gray Daniel Jordan. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Howard Bowd Slough, former Commissioner of the Revenue for the City
of Buena Vista. Mrs. Slough was the great-great-granddaughter of John Jordan,
a major contributor to the development of Rockbridge County. She was a member
of Christ Episcopal Church. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Grae
Foster and son-in-law, James H. Foster of Richmond; three grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren, all of Richmond. She is also survived by a cousin,
Miss Mabelle Jordan of Buena Vista. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, November 6, at Lomax Funeral Home Chapel in Buena Vista with the
Rev. Sally Dover and the Rev. W. Ramsey Richardson officiating. Interment will
follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8
p.m. on Friday, November 5 at Lomax Funeral Home.
