ART MUSEUM LECTURE FOCUSES ON KASS' WORKS

Art critic Donald Kuspit will speak on ``Ray Kass in the Context of Transcendental Abstract Art'' at the Art Museum of Western Virginia in Roanoke on Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.

The lecture is in conjunction with an exhibit of Kass's works in the museum's first floor galleries from Nov. 13 through Feb. 20. A reception will follow the lecture, and both are free.

Kuspit is a professor of art history and philosophy at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is editor of Art Criticism. He has written hundreds of articles, exhibit reviews and catalogue essays, as well as several books on art. In 1983 he received the Frank Jewett Mather Award for Distinction in Art Criticism.
