OBIT-AYERS, CARL

AYERS, Carl, 88, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, November 5, 1993, at his daughter's home. He went home to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Carrie, who preceded him in death in January. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church and a retired employee of J. H. Fralin & Son Contractors. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Earl Bostic, Roanoke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wilson and Helen Ayers, Roanoke, Gene and Pat Ayers, Poway, Calif.; grandchildren and spouses, Pam Bostic, Roanoke, Joy and Richard Smith, New Castle, Karen and Bob Killen, Roanoke, Melanie and Doug Reynolds, New Castle, Tim Bostic, who is serving in the U.S. Army, Military Police in Korea, Dawn and Juan Reyes, Carl and Melissa Ayers, and Crystal and Kevin Saunders, all of Poway, Calif.; four stepgrandchildren, Shelia Robb, Billy Blankenship, Jimmy Blankenship, and Pete Nance; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Morgan, Winchester; sister-in-law, Lillie Ayers, Bedford; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Teddy and Jenny Propst, Covington; sister-in-law, Gladys Rodgers, Saluda. Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church 3 p.m. Sunday,with the Rev. Aaron J. Rummage, the Rev. W. A. Massey, and the Rev. Orlando Gonzalez officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, at 3 p.m. in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Oakey's North Chapel.
