She was the widow of the late Randolph Moore Kabrich of Wytheville. She was born in Marion in 1902, the daughter of Charles Stevens Wassum and Margaret Cornett Wassum. She came to Wytheville as a bride, and was active for many years in the community. She was a member of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church, where she served as assistant organist, director of the boys choir, and was a leader in both local and Presbytery Women's Work. She was an active member of the Wilderness Road Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Helen Trinkle Music Club, and the Moribana Garden Club. Mrs. Kabrich and her husband grew and exhibited English Boxwoods in National Flower Shows. Many of their Boxwoods are proudly displayed at the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington and Lee University, and Davidson College. She is survived by three children and spouses, Randolph Moore Kabrich Jr. and wife, Nancy Bogart Kabrich, Greensboro, N.C., Preston Tothill and husband, C.E.B. Also surviving are one brother, Charles Stevens Wassum, Marion and New York; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Wright, Florida. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Huff, Glade Springs, and Janie Boyd, Marion. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the Wytheville Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Michael G. Wingard and Dr. Thomas Sproule. Burial will follow in the East End Cemetery in Wytheville. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville. The family suggests that memorials be made to Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community, Harrisonburg, Va., or the Wytheville Presbyterian Church. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of arrangements.
