OBIT-AUSTIN, GUY L. JR.
AUSTIN, Guy L. Jr., 70, of Roanoke, died Saturday, November 6, 1993, in a
local hospital. He was an active member and Deacon of the Waverly Place
Baptist Church. Mr. Austin was a retired employee of Powers Fence Company.
Surviving are his wife, Madalone Starkey Austin; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Diane and Gary Wagner of Vinton and Judy and Jim Fralin of
Roanoke; two grandchildren, Beth Wagner and Jeff Fralin; two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Louise and Robert Schulze of Stuart, Fla. and Helen and
William Hungate of Vinton; brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Alma Austin
of Vinton; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at the
Waverly Place Baptist Church 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Charles Hoffler and
Dr. Steve Spangler officiating. Interment will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial
Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the
Waverly Place Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
