ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICATORS

The Virginia Automobile Dealers Association reported that registrations in September reached 786 new cars. That represents increases of 32.5 percent over 593 in August and 29 percent over 609 in September 1992.

The number of new cars registered so far this year is 5,413. That's a jump of 14 percent over last year's 4,748.

Of the September number, 398 new cars were registered in Roanoke, 284 in Roanoke County and 104 in Salem.
