KAPPA ALPHA BATTLE OF BANDS

Kappa Alpha held a Battle of the Bands in the crispy Saturday air to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Starting at noon, the New River Valley bands competed for votes from the audience. Each vote cost $1 and T-shirts also were sold. Between music set-ups, WUVT disc jockeys Jody Savelka and Terri Krizek entertained.

First place went to the group Gretta Evans, second to Open Mind and third to Pop Sloppy. Well over $500 was raised, according to Scott Lambert, organizer for the event.
