OBIT-BALLARD, MABEL WRIGHT
BALLARD, Mabel Wright, 94, of Bedford, died Monday, November 8, 1993, in a
local nursing home. She was born in Bedford County January 23, 1899, daughter
of the late John Edward Wright and Hattie Seay Overstreet Wright. She was the
widow of Garrett G. Ballard and a member of Main Street United Methodist
Church. She is survived by a daughter, Jenny Seay Ballard of Richmond. A
memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, November 10, 1993, at 2 p.m. at
the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Carl H. Douglass Jr.
officiating. Memorials may be made to either the American Society or the
Bedford Life Saving Crew. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
