NEW RIVER VALLEY MALL ARBY'S MANAGER ROBBED OVER WEEKEND

A manager at Arby's was robbed Saturday night as she left the New River Valley Mall, where the restaurant is located.

The woman, who was carrying a night deposit, was leaving the rear entrance of the mall at 10:17 p. m. when a man grabbed her from behind, Christiansburg police said. The victim reported that she turned to face a male subject who said, ``Give me your money and purse or else I'll have to hurt you.'' Police said the robber had a knife.

After the manager surrendered her purse and money, the man fled through the parking lot. Police would not identify the woman or reveal the amount of money stolen. Arby's District Manager Jim Workman had no comment.
