OBIT STEVENS, WARREN LYLE
STEVENS, Warren Lyle, 71, of Bedford, passed away Monday, November 8, 1993,
in the Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 17, 1922, in
Bedford County, a son of the late William Edward Stevens and Martha Spradlin
Stevens. He was a retired employee of Sam Moore Furniture Co., was a veteran
of World War II and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church.
Mr. Stevens was a member of the Outlaw Gang Riding Club. He is survived by his
wife, Earnestine Comer Stevens; a son, William (Billy) Stevens, Bedford; three
daughters, Linda Stevens, Bedford, Valarie S. Zimmerman, Moneta, Dianne
Stevens, Granbury, Texas; a sister, Mamie Atkins, Bedford; three brothers, Roy
O. Stevens, J. Harold Stevens, both of Bedford; A. H. Stevens, Montvale; two
grandsons, Christopher Spradlin, Salem, Geoffery Zimmerman, Moneta; a
granddaughter, Gina Zimmerman, Moneta. Funeral services will be conducted
Thursday, November 11, 1993, at 2 p.m. from the Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist
Church, by the Rev. Joe Prince. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9
p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, and request that those wishing to make
memorials consider the Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church.
