OBIT WAUGH, FLORENCE OLIVIA
WAUGH, Florence Olivia, (nee Nethken), 89, of Naperville, Ill., died
Wednesday, November 3, 1993, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born on
January 19, 1904 in Cass, W.Va., and had been a resident of Naperville since
1989, after having previously lived in Roanoke and the Beckley, W.Va. area.
Mrs. Waugh was a member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church in Beckley, W.Va.
and a member of the Church Circle. She was also a member of the Homemakers
Club and was very devoted to handwork. While living in Naperville she attended
Grace United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara
(Robert) Lyon of Naperville; two grandsons, Don (Janet) Lyon of Fredericton
New Brunswick, Canada and Tim (Debbie) Lyon of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; one
granddaughter, Cindy Lyon of Naperville; two sisters, Anna Haslam of Mt. Hope,
W.Va. and Martha (Isaac) Early of Harrisonburg, Va. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Oscar C. in 1975, her parents, Steward B. and Adelaide (nee
Fuhrman) Nethken and seven brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be
held Sunday, November 14, 1993, 2 p.m. at the Beckley Presbyterian Church in
Beckley, W.Va., with the Rev. Dr. Denver Davis officiating. Private interment
will take place at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens also in Beckley. Memorials
in Mrs. Waugh's name may be made to Davis Stuart Inc., a home for emotionally
disturbed children, Route 2, Box 188-A, Lewisburg, West Virginia. Local
arrangements were made by the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 West Van
