LIBERTY ROLLS IN SEMINOLE

Sue Cowlbeck scored 22 points and Kellea Whorley had 10 as Liberty beat Appomattox 60-44 in a Seminole District girls' basketball tournament quarterfinal game at Staunton River High School on Wednesday night.

Martha Wingfield had 14 points for Appomattox.

In tonight's semifinals at Staunton River, Liberty plays Brookville at 8 p.m. and William Campbell plays Staunton River at 6:30 p.m.

William Campbell beat Amherst 55-51 on Wednesday.
