CHRISTIANSBURG MAN WINS LOTTERY

Barry Smith is $100,000 richer after claiming his $100,000 prize for matching all five numbers in the Virginia Lottery's Cash 5 game.

Smith let the computer select his winning combination in the Sept. 20 drawing: 4-13-20-29-34. He bought his ticket from 7-Eleven Store on First St.

Other Cash 5 winners picking up checks this week were Pattie Hubbard of Richmond and Eduardo Ligon of Norfolk. All three received checks of $68,000 after taxes. The Lottery is required to withhold 28 percent for federal income taxes and 4 percent for state taxes.
