The second leg of the Thunder Road 500, delayed because of Halloween on Oct. 30 and poor weather conditions on Nov. 6 will run this Saturday starting at 3 p.m. The final practice of the year will be tonight.
"Since this is the last race of the year, I expect you'll see the drivers let it out a little bit Saturday," promoter Whitey Taylor said. "After all, they've got all winter to fix their cars up."
The Late Model Stock Car feature is a 200-lap event paying $3,000 to the winner. Tony McGuire will start on the pole, based on qualifying Nov. 5. The other Late Model drivers can requalify Saturday or let their previous times stand.
The Thunder Road 500 will include 35-lap races in all other divisions. All Saturday's races will count double points.
Gates open Saturday at 11 a.m. Admission will be $10 for adults; children under 10 are free.
