OBIT NELSON, HELEN MARR
NELSON, Helen Marr, 84, of Bristol, formerly of Grayson County, died
Tuesday, November 9, 1993 in Bristol, Va. Mrs. Nelson had masters degrees in
Zoology and Psychology. She was very active in the P.T.A. and church work. She
absolutely loved music, she played the piano and pipe organ, was an avid
gardener and especially loved roses. She was a member of the Royal Oak
Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of over sixty years,
Meredith K. Nelson of Bristol, Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and
Cornel Vanciu of Midland, Mich; two sons and daughters-in-law, Meredith R. and
Janet Nelson of Greensboro, N.C. and Michael C. and Lori Nelson of Dearborn,
Mich.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 1993 at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with Rev.
Edgar Ferrell and Rev. Sheldon Sorge officiating. Burial will follow in Grant
Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Royal Oak
Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 912, Marion, Va. 24354. The family will receive
friends Thursday evening from 7 tp 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
