OBIT KOCHENDERFER, MARY K.
KOCHENDERFER, Mary K., Miss, 69, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, November 10,
1993. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Ruth J. Kochenderfer, and
her father, Leon Kochenderfer. She was a member of Raleigh Court United
Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing
and a graduate of the University of Virginia. She was a retired registered
nurse from the Salem Veterans Administration, where she held several
administrative positions. She was a member and officer of W. C. T. U.,
Jefferson Hospital Alumni, and the Republican Women. Surviving are several
cousins, Mrs. Britomart Mechsner of San Gabriel, Calif., retired Lt. Col.
Michael Mechsner of Austin, Texas, Susan Mechsner of Studio City, Calif.;
special friends, Mary and Jack Robertson of Norfolk, Gladys Cunningham of
Roanoke, Margaret Starkey, also of Roanoke. A funeral service will be
conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 1993 from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel,
with the Dr. Gregory L. Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial
Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's
Roanoke Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Roanoke Valley SPCA or your
favorite charity.
