Rural Retreat (20-1) trailed 47-44 before Tanya Tarter hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left. After Northwood missed a shot on its next trip down the floor, Ketner grabbed the rebound and was fouled. She went to the line and made both ends of the one-and-one to give the Indians the victory.
Tarter's 15 points led Rural Retreat, which advances to the Group A Region C tournament. Stephanie Kell added 14 for the Indians.
Heather Gillespie and Jessica Prater had 12 each for Northwood.
Pioneer District
\ Glenvar 56, Parry McCluer 24: In Buchanan, the Highlanders cruised past the Fighting Blues and into the tournament title game.
Marilea Hale scored 12 points and Toree Morris added 11 as top-seeded Glenvar (17-4) took a 24-14 halftime lead over fourth-seed Parry McCluer (10-11).
The Highlanders will face second-seeded James River at 7:30 p.m. today in the final on the Knights' court.
James River 59, Covington 36: In Buchanan, the Knights used a stifling defense, getting 21 steals, as they ran past the Cougars and into the tournament final against Glenvar.
James River (14-8) clinched a Group A Region C playoff berth with the victory.
The Knights had three scorers in double figures. Teresa Hickman scored a game-high 15 points, Kara Mundy added 13 and Angie Johnson had 11.
Covington finishes its season 8-12.
