OBIT SCRUGGS, PHILIP B., ("TOBE")

SCRUGGS, Philip B., ("Tobe"), 98, of Moneta, died Thursday, November 11, 1993 at the VA Medical Center in Salem. He was a veteran of World War I. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Ayers Scruggs and two stepsons, J.B. Cundiff and W.C. Cundiff. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harris (Juanita) McGuire of Wirtz; one son, Al Scruggs of Moneta; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Brady (Thelma) Poindexter of Roanoke; one grandson, David Alvin Scruggs of Moneta; two sisters, Mrs. Precious Brown of Rocky Mount, Mrs. Florence Bousman of Wirtz. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from Lynch Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Boones Mill. The family will receive friends at Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
