OBIT EDLUND, MILTON C.

EDLUND, Milton C., 68, of Blacksburg, Professor Emeritus of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, died Wednesday, November 10, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He received his PH.D. from the University of Michigan in Nuclear Science in 1966. Professor Edlund received the E.O. Lawrence Award in 1965, Fellow American Nuclear Society in 1961, and the National Academy of Engineering in 1976. He was a nuclear physicist and assistant Atomic Energy Division Manager with Babcox and Wilcox in Lynchburg for 12 years and was a Engineering Professor at Va Tech for 20 years. He was a member of Hunter's Masonic Lodge #156 A.F. & A.M. Surviving are his wife, Lois E. Edlund; a daughter, Susan E. King, Blacksburg; a son, Randall C. Edlund, Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kristin E. Edlund, John C. Edlund and Amy E. Edlund; a brother, Frank L. Edlund, Tucson, Ariz. A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 1993, at the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. D. Cameron Murchison, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
