EXPRESS TRADES FOR GOALTENDER

The Roanoke Express picked up a goaltender, paying the Birmingham Bulls an undisclosed amount of cash for Jim Mill, who has not played this year because of a broken hand suffered in preseason.

Mill was 16-7-2 with a 3.97 goals-against average (10th in the East Coast Hockey League) for Raleigh last season. He had been traded by Raleigh to Birmingham, where he suffered his injury.

Roanoke goalie Bryan Schoen was designated for assignment by the parent San Jose Sharks.

Mill is the second player traded for by the Express, who obtained Claude Barthe from Knoxville in August.
