OBIT SHELOR, NORA L.
SHELOR, Nora L. ("Granny"), 100, of Blacksburg, passed away Monday,
November 15, 1993, in Heritage Hall Nursing Home. She was the oldest resident
to have ever lived in the Merrimac Community. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Ballard Shelor and two sons, Hubert Shelor and L. A. "Nuck" Shelor.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lester and Ruby
Shelor, Christiansburg, Kelly and Thelma Shelor, Jack Shelor, all of
Blacksburg; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren and three
stepgreat-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will
be 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by
Rev. Jerry Sloss with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will
receive friends from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral
Home, Christiansburg.
