GRUNDY ELMINATES CHRISTIANSBURG

Grundy forced 27 turnovers and held Rebecca McNeil to eight points as the Golden Wave rolled past Christiansburg 55-35 in the first round of the Region IV girls' basketball tournament Tuesday night.

Tracy Wysor scored eight of Grundy's first 10 points on her way to a game-high 23. The Golden Wave (19-4) held McNeil to two shots in the first half. McNeil fouled out with 5 minutes, 10 seconds left in the game after taking seven shots.

With 11 points, Maureen Jackson was the lone double-digit scorer for the Demons, who finished the season 11-12.

Grundy will visit Gate City at 7 p.m. Thursday. \
