OBIT MEADOR, JAMES DANIEL JR.
MEADOR, James Daniel Jr., 78, of Salem, died Tuesday, November 16, 1993. He
was a veteran of World War II. He had 29 years of service with the National
Guard and was a member of the Virginia Civil Defense Department. He is
survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Huffine Meador; two sons, James D.
Meador III, Patrick Keith Meador, both of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law,
Kathy Meador and Richard B. Dennis of Salem; two brothers, Carper Dobyns
Meador of Keysville, and David R. Meador of Roanoke; one sister, Louise Meador
Spencer of Roanoke; two stepsisters, Edna Anderson of Vinton, Ruby Sisson of
Salem; two grandchildren, Luke Zebulun Dennis and Amanda Caroline Meador; a
special family friend, Joan English of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held
Thursday, November 18, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev.
Robert Sadler officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park with
military honors. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel after noon Wednesday.
