OBIT-KNOX, VERNON L.
KNOX, Vernon L., 76, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 1993, in
Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Melrose Baptist Church, was a
retired conductor from Norfolk & Western Railway, a member of Roanoke Moose
Lodge #284, was a former volunteer with Camelot Nursing Home and was an Army
veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Holbrook Knox;
four daughters and sons-in-law, Janet K. and Pete Gech, Orlando, Fla., Loria
and Roy Sluder, Roanoke, Juanita B. Bush, Georgia, Annete H. Cundiff, Roanoke;
son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm Harris Jr. and Paula, New Berlin, Wis.; four
grandchildren; one brother, Earl Knox, California; one sister, Betty Jane
Webb, Fincastle. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel
at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 19, with the Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating.
Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's North
Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday.
