The Chesapeake woman, her name withheld to protect her daughter's identity, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding.
Charlie D. Hinton, 27, of Virginia Beach, has pleaded guilty to forcible sodomy and carnal knowledge and is to be sentenced Dec. 21.
Hinton told authorities that he fell in love with the 13-year-old and had sex with her six or seven times.
The mother said that after her daughter told her what Hinton had done, she took an eyebrow razor and drove to Hinton's home.
"I was irate. My mind was gone," she said after the hearing. "I know what I did was wrong, but he was also wrong. He saw my child grow up as a little girl. . . . He took my child's virginity."
Ross Weinstein, her attorney, told the judge that the daughter, an only child, was the mother's entire world. She raised her alone and worked at a tool factory, saving enough money to buy a home.
"She got out of the projects and bought a home near the North Carolina border," Weinstein said. "Everything she does centers around doing what's best for her daughter."
