OBIT WEST, ELANE J.
WEST, Elane J., 64, of Vinton, passed away Thursday, November 18, 1993. She
was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and the United
Methodist Women. She was retired from Eli Lilly Arden Division. She was active
in the Vinton Women of the Moose and the Salem Chapter of the A.B.W.A. She was
preceded in death by her father, Thomas F. Jones and a brother, Wallace C.
Jones. Survivors include her husband, Howard A. West Jr.; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Gale and Don Webb, Kitty and Johnny Westmoreland, all of Roanoke;
a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Vivian West of Sherman, Texas; her mother,
Annie B. Jones, formerly of Moneta; a brother and sister-in-law, John and
Kathy Jones of Colleyville, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and
Bill Lee of Salem; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson. Funeral services
will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November
22, 1993, with the Rev. William Anthony Layman and the Rev. Dr. George Wesley
Jones officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may
call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday 2
to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
