Lisa Price had one of those games when just about everything goes right.
And both had their stellar performances at the right time - in the Group AA Region IV championship game.
Those performances lifted the Indians over Gate City 67-41 before a crowd of 1,000 at Gate City Middle School.
It was the Indians' second consecutive regional crown and their third in four years. Both teams advance to the state tournament, which begins Tuesday.
Blacksburg (23-2), the 1992 state champion, is host to Lord Botetourt, the Region III runner-up, at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Cavaliers beat Blacksburg in the season opener for both teams.
Gate City (19-5) travels to Region III champion Staunton River.
Price's night included a career-high 30 points on 15-for-19 field-goal shooting.
Price also had seven rebounds, seven steals and three assists.
"I don't know, I just had that feeling," she said. "Mary [Thorn, the Indians' point guard] kept getting me the ball. So I kept going up with it."
Said Thorn: "When someone is that hot, you have to keep getting them the ball."
Price scored eight of her points in the second period - when Blacksburg was close to perfect. Helping her with the offense in the quarter was Thorn with two 3-pointers and Abigail Murrmann with five points inside. The Indians shot 9-for-16 in the period and turned a five-point lead into a 35-15 lead.
The defense also did the job in the quarter. It forced eight turnovers and held the Lady Devils to 2-for-6 shooting.
Gate City briefly cut its deficit to 14 points midway through the third period. Price had 10 points in the third, so the mini-surge was of no consequence.
