OBIT HAVENS, WALTER LEWIS JR.
HAVENS, Walter Lewis Jr., ("Pam"), 65, of Pearisburg, died Saturday,
November 20, 1993, in the Richfield Nursing Home in Salem. He was born in
Giles County on February 21, 1928, and was a son of the late James W. Havens
and Myrtle Robertson Havens. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He is
survived by his former wife, Ruth N. Havens of Pearisburg; one son, Walter L.
Havens Jr. of Pearisburg; two daughters, Linda Gay Whittaker of Roanoke and
Lois Marie Wyatt of Hardy; seven brothers, William Andrew Havens of
Pearisburg, Dewey Edward Havens of Pearisburg, Marvin Cleveland Havens of
Pearisburg, Robert Lee Havens of Pearisburg, Joseph Martin Havens of Salem,
John Compton Havens of Warrenton and James Bascom Havens of Kingsport, Tenn.;
two sisters, Geneva Havens King of Pearisburg and Mildred Havens Robertson of
Pembroke; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday,
November 22, 1993, at 1 p.m. in the Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg, with
the Rev. Eddie Kendell officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Sunday evening from
6 to 8.
