OBIT GILMER, BETTY WINSTON

GILMER, Betty Winston, 90, of Williamsburg, formerly of Farmville, died Friday, November 19, 1993. She was the widow of Dr. Thomas E. Gilmer, Professor of Psychology, and former president of Hampden-Sydney College. She is survived by one daughter, M. Boyd Coyner of Williamsburg; three sons, William N. Gilmer, Sherman, Conn., Dr. George H. Gilmer, Berkley Heights, N.J., Dr. Thomas E. Gilmer Jr., Blacksburg, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 1993 at College Presbyterian Church, Hampden-Sydney. Interment will be at Seminary Cemetery, Hampdon-Sydney. Memorial contributions may be sent to World Vision and International Relief Organization, P. O. Box 1131, Pasadena, Calif., 91131. The family will receive friends at the Hampden House, 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Arrangements by Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville.
