OBIT MCCRAW, SAMUEL M.
MCCRAW, Samuel M., 70, of Newport News, died Friday, November 19, 1993, in
Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Halifax County and a
Peninsula resident for 51 years. He was an electrician and retired from
Newport News Shipbuilding Company in 1988 after 41 years of service. He was a
Navy Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Adele C. McCraw; one
daughter, Linda M. Ahern of Roanoke; three sisters, Louise McMillan of Newport
News, Gay Anderson of Crystal Hill and Dale Gosney of South Boston; one
brother, Bernard M. McCraw of Nathalie; two grandchildren. A funeral service
will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 22, 1993, in Peninsula Funeral Home
by the Rev. Jay A. Lawson of Hilton Baptist Church. Burial will be in
Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Sunday in Peninsula Funeral Home. Those wishing to may make memorials to the
Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements by Peninsula Funeral Home.
