OBIT BRUNCKHORST, FRANK LOUIS
BRUNCKHORST, Frank Louis, 86, of Blacksburg, died Monday, November 22,
1993. He lived in Warm Hearth Village until a recent move to Our Lady of the
Valley in Roanoke. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lenora; a son and
daughter-in-law, Lee and Einir Jones Brunckhorst, Koonawarra, Australia; a
daughter and son-in-law, Elna and Paul Ribbe, Blacksburg; grandchildren, Elna
Brunckhorst Sicular and her husband, Daniel, Berkeley, Calif., Elizabeth
Brunckhorst, San Diego, Calif.; Dr. David and Kelley Ribbe, Thetford, Vt.,
Julianne Ribbe Robertson, Richmond; Cheryl Ribbe Porter and her husband,
Jacob, Blacksburg; four great-grandchildren, Alexander Sicular, and Aislynn,
Nathanael, and Karelyn Ribbe; a sister, Winifred Nybroten, Whitewater, Wis.; a
brother, Dr. Louis Brunckhorst, St. Cloud, Minn. Mr. Brunckhorst was born
September 2, 1907, in Plattville, Wis., the son of Louis and Frieda Thiele
Brunckhorst. He was a graduate of Plattville Normal School, and a 1930
graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He married Lenora Webber of Gary,
Ind., in 1931, taught high school, worked as a journalist and in the Chicago
public relations firm of Selz-Seabolt and Associates, retiring as
vice-president in 1972. The Brunckhorsts lived in Santa Barbara, Calif. for 15
years before moving to Blacksburg in 1989. A memorial service will be held at
Blacksburg Christian Fellowship, 2300 N. Main St., Blacksburg, at 11 a.m.
Friday, November 26. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be directed to
Blacksburg Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box 813, Blacksburg, Va. 24063 or First
United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara, Calif. 93101.
