WAHOO GETS DUBIOUS HOKIE HONOR

Pulaski County Attorney Tom McCarthy received a dubious honor from two county supervisors Monday night.

Supervisors Joe Sheffey and Pete Crawford called McCarthy forward at the end of regular business for a presentation, and an unpleasant reminder of last weekend's football game between the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech.

McCarthy graduated from UVa, whose team lost the game. Sheffey and Crawford were Tech graduates and could not help rubbing it in.

They presented McCarthy with a certificate designating him as ``an honorary Hokie fan.''

``Thank you,'' McCarthy said. ``I will post this somewhere appropriate.''
