OBIT-CARTER, WALTER AMOS
CARTER, Walter Amos, 57, of Route 2, Vinton, passed away Tuesday, November
23, 1993, in a local hospital. He was a retired sheet metal mechanic. Mr.
Carter is survived by his wife, Linda D. Carter; three sons, Timothy Michael
Cook, Roanoke, Jeffrey Russell Cook, of the home; Jeffrey Scott Carter,
Goodview; two daughters, Tammy Lynn Karnes, and Carol Lynette Carter, both of
Goodview; two brothers, Richard Eugene Carter, Billy Wayne Carter, both of
Roanoke; four sisters, Ethel Mae Durham, Franklin County, Mary Fannie Turner,
Elsie Magdalene Wray, Ruby Christine Wills, all of Roanoke; a half brother,
Frank Webster Carter, Roanoke; one grandson, Jimmy Dale Karnes. Funeral
services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 26, 1993 from the Lotz Vinton
Chapel. The Rev. Ralph E. Lawhorn Sr. will officiate. Burial to follow in Oak
Hill Old German Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin County. The family suggests
memorial contributions be sent to Hardy Road Rescue Squad. Friends may call at
Lotz Vinton Chapel.
