OBIT-CUMBEE, DOROTHY LOUISE

CUMBEE, Dorothy Louise, 61, of Newport, died Tuesday evening, November 23, 1993, in a Radford, Va. hospital. Born in Giles County on December 10, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Maggie Collins Williams. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Williams, Alvin Williams, and Frank Jr. Williams; a sister, Ruby Williams. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bobby Jones, Newport; a grandson and wife, Mark Anthony and Michele Robertson Jones; a great-granddaughter, Christina Michele Jones; her companion, Frank `June' Williams; a brother, Layman Williams, Newport; five sisters, Helen Songer, Mary Songer, Rachael Songer, all of Newport, Shirley Hazelwood, Peterstown, West Va., Virginia Weiss, Collinwood, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 1993 in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at Pembroke with the Rev. Eddie Kendall and the Rev. Ira Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Boyds Chapel Cemetery near Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
