HUMANE SOCIETY PLANS CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Humane Society of Montgomery County will hold its annual Open House and Christmas Party for the animals on Dec. 4, noon-4 p.m. at its site on Flanagan Drive, just off Virginia 8 after the Interstate 81 underpass.

At 1:30 p.m., a memorial ceremony will be held dedicating the shelter to Dr. Stanley Huffman, founder of the Montgomery County chapter of the humane society. At 2 p.m., winners of the American Heritage raffle will be drawn.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can tour the shelter and meet animals waiting for a permanent home.
