OBIT FRANCIS, LILLIAN SUNDSTROM
FRANCIS, Lillian Sundstrom, 81, of Pilot, passed away Wednesday, November
24, 1993. Mrs. Francis was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces during World War
II, having served as a Physical Therapist in Italy. She was an employee of the
Montgomery County Department of Social Services for 17 years. After serving
with Social Services, she spent the last 20 years as co-founder of Serenity
House, along with her husband, David. She is survived by her husband, David
Francis; one daughter and son-in-law, Anita F. and Charles Heartley, Newport,
N.C.; two grandsons, Marshall and Scott Heartley, Newport, N.C. Memorial
services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 27, at the Huffville Church,
conducted by the Rev. Richard Eckland and the Rev. Eugene Sowder. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Lillian S. Francis
Educational Fund, c/o Serenity House, P.O. Box 119, Pilot, Va., 24138. The
family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at the
Huffville Church. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral
Home.
