OBIT COUCH, JOHN THOMAS
COUCH, John Thomas, 69, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, November 26, 1993.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from the VA Medical
Center in Salem. Mr. Couch was a member and Deacon at High Street Baptist
Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel E. Couch. Survivors
include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Paul and Judith Couch Sr. of
Blacksburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Melba and Andrew Mauldin of
Fayettville, N.C., Kay F. and David Johnson of Roanoke; brothers, Samuel Couch
of Philadelphia, Penn., Floyd Couch of Farmville, James Couch of Atlanta, Ga.;
sisters, Naomi (Ernest) Thomas of Roanoke, Elizabeth Patterson of Bronx, N.Y.;
ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at High Street Baptist Church. Dr.
Noel C. Taylor will officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park. The
body will be placed in the Church Monday where the family will receive friends
from 7 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
