2 FRANKLIN TEENS KILLED IN SEPARATE CRASHES

Two Franklin County teen-agers were killed in separate weekend accidents that occurred approximately an hour and a half apart.

Kerri Brent Harrison was a passenger in a car traveling north on U.S. 220 when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail at 10:58 Saturday night, Roanoke County police said. Harrison, 19, was thrown from the car.

Harrison, of Route 1, Glade Hill, was pronounced dead at Community Hospital, police said.

A juvenile, whose name was not released, was driving the car, police said. The three other passengers also were injured. Police were unsure whether Harrison was wearing a seat belt.

April Dawn Hodges, 16, of Rocky Mount was killed when she lost control of a car on Virginia 674 in Rocky Mount early Sunday, state police said.

The car slid sideways off the right side of the road and struck a tree. There was no information as to whether she was wearing a seat belt.
