OBIT DAVIS, CHESTER THOMAS

DAVIS, Chester Thomas, 77, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, November 26, 1993. He was the son of the late John Henry and Delia Jones Davis. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church (Kingstown). He retired from N&W Railroad after 40 years of employment. Left to mourn their loss are his wife, Olivene H. Davis; daughter, Veranean S. Davis, both of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Chester A. and Royce J. Davis; grandson, Ramon A. Davis, all of O'Fallon, Ill.; foster grandson, Juan Harris of Roanoke; sister, Carrie K. Johnson of Washington, D.C.; brothers, John M. Davis of Roanoke, William B. Davis of Potomac, Md.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many close friends, including special friends, Mr. Jessie Lewis and Mr. Walter Allen. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Herman Word will officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
