FATHER'S LIFE OF SERVICE REMEMBERED WITH GIFT

For Kay Grundkowski, contributing to the Good Neighbors Fund means giving a Christmas gift to the needy in memory of her father, E.B. "Johnny" Arrington.

Arrington, a charter member and one of the original founders of the Vinton Rescue Squad, died shortly after he was admitted to the hospital this past Father's Day.

Grundkowski says her father, "lived his life in service to others less fortunate than himself," and would have wanted for his daughter to give to those in need during the holiday season.

While Johnny Arrington "shunned recognition" for his good deeds, his daughter asks that her donation be accepted "as my father's Christmas gift to the needy."

Checks should be made payable to Good Neighbors Fund and mailed to Roanoke Times & World-News, P.O. Box 1951, Roanoke 24008.

Names of contributing businesses, individuals or organizations, as well as memorial and honorific designations, will be listed. Those requesting that their names not be used will remain anonymous. If no preference is stated, the donor's name will be listed.
