OBIT SLOCUM, JOHN MILTON

SLOCUM, John Milton, 87, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 28, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hodges Slocum; his daughters and sons-in-law, Goldie and Harold Dunahoo, Myrtle Hodges, Betty and George Bratton, Martha and Don Ferrell; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Louis Slocum, David and Hannah Slocum, Richard and Ellen Sue Slocum; 18 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Lotz Roanoke Chapel, by Pastor Joseph Hendricks and Pastor Robert Alderman, with burial in Monta Vista Cemetery, Franklin County. The family will receive friends after noon Tuesday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
